The new developments for analytics is happening on this platform, so to benefit from those enhancements, you would want to migrate. It will help to future proof your work also, as it will better intergrate across the ServiceNow platform.
ServiceNow has communicated that there will be no auto-migration in the Australia release. However users will be required to create anything new within the Platform Analytics Experience, as creating reporting content in the old UI will be deprecated.
Another UPDATE: Old reporting tools will be deprecated in Australia. UPDATE: It has been shared on a webinar and within the community that the forced migration will not happen in the Z release. At the moment, we do not have a family release to expect the required migration. // Platform Analytics is already available in the Vancouver, Washington DC and Xanadu release families, so migrations have started. ServiceNow has published that in the Zurich release, all assets will be automatically migrated to Platform Analytics.
If you use the migration center application, the contents of the dashboard will migrate, including the reports.
Yes. There is a new UI when building data visualizations and dashboards. Learning how it functions, along with the new and improved features and capabilities is something that will require your team to learn.

ServiceNow has a migration utility that helps move those assets to Platform Analytics. However, there is more to the migration then simply letting the tool run. There are many assets that will move over which you may not want to migrate, so understanding what to move is important. Additionally, assets can be in various states after the migration, so knowing what those states are and if it will be acceptable is important.
Yes. Reports are now called Data Visualizations. Performance Analytics Indicators are now called KPIs. But Dashboards are still Dashboards, so no change there.
Platform Analytics is a new experience that brings your Dashboard, Reports and Performance Analytics assets under a single space.
